There are several services and tools available for teams and supervisors to develop and support team operations in relation to the different phases and needs of the teams' life cycle.

Teamwork: Basics
For Whom?
The team charter is intended for new teams and teams with changes. It is a common understanding built by the team members on issues that are central to the smoothness of operations.
Why?
The team charter supports teamwork and building appreciative interaction. The goal of the Team Charter is to create a shared understanding of the team’s mission, vision, and goals, as well as the roles, responsibilities, and norms that govern team behavior, leading to improved collaboration and performance.
What?
By discussing together, the team's purpose, responsibilities and roles become clearer. The discussion also clarifies the team's common practices. It identifies the most important cooperation parties and ways of working. In the discussions, it is agreed how and when the team contract will be updated in the future.
The material is designed to be used together with team and its supervisor. Supervisor facilitates the discussion. Decide together which things are most important to your team and start with them. The contents of the team charter can be processed in parts or as a whole, for example during a team development day.

For Whom?
Team coaching is suitable for situations where you want to support team building, working as a team or interaction and communication in a team. In addition, team coaching can also be used to strengthen the team's wellbeing and resilience.
Why?
Team coaching empowers teams by giving them tools to succeed together. It helps teams to develop safe and trusting relationships and better ways of working, and to work toward continued high performance, ongoing development, and wellbeing.
What?
Team coaching is a process that typically takes place over a series of sessions. The team coach supports the team by involving the team members throughout all the phases of the process. The first phase of the process is to clarify the needs for the team coaching and agree on the focus and goals for the coaching process. In the coaching sessions the team coach utilizes a variety of methodologies and formats depending on the needs of the team. The process includes regular reflection of the progress. During the last coaching session, the team will review the success and results of the team coaching process and agree on the follow-up.
Internal trained team coaches are utilized in Aalto University.

For Whom?
For teams, team members and supervisors who face challenges, contradictions or conflicts in their work environment. Work community mediation can also be suitable for jointly clarifying experiences of inappropriate treatment or bullying.
Why?
The benefits of workplace mediation are manifold at both the individual and the organisational level. Conflicts weaken productivity and wellbeing at work, increase sick leaves as well as and general negativity in the atmosphere. When conflicts are resolved and relationships between people improve, resources become again available for working and achieving things together. Workplace mediation has a learning impact on both the individual and the community. The ability and courage to solve challenges grows and work community skills develop.
What?
Workplace mediation is a restorative method that intervenes in conflicts in the work community, aiming to improve interaction skills, restore peace at work and improve the working atmosphere. The restorative approach emphasises positive processes based on encounters, dialogues, cooperation, and increasing understanding. The mediation process includes a joint info meeting, individual discussions and a joint mediation meeting. After couple of months there will be a follow-up meeting. Mediaton process is lead and facilitated by internal trained mediation pair.
