Aalto Current Research Information System (ACRIS)

Aalto Current Research Information System (ACRIS) is Aalto University’s research information system. The system contains the university’s up-to-date research and artistic activity.


ACRIS facilitates the management of academic merits of researchers and artists by

  • providing a platform for registering scientific and artistic activity,
  • automatically producing a great deal of information to assist researchers, such as data on affiliations and education, Scopus and Web of Science (WOS) publications and citations, metrics data on journals, etc.,
  • offering a free platform for green open access publishing,  
  • enabling users to present their own achievements publicly through expert duties, memberships, projects, awards, metadata on datasets and open data, etc. and
  • presenting the large infrastructures of Aalto University and the publications produced with them.

You use the system with Aalto credentials.


The service consists of the university’s back end system ( and a public portal ( Data is inserted in, and shown through the portal. The user can, to some extent, decide which information s/he prefers to show publicly.

The public portal collects important research information in one place thus improving the visibility of Aalto University’s scientific and artistic activity. Users can search for data with different criteria: with the name of a researcher, department or publication, or with different keywords.

Publications can be imported manually or from online sources. The ACRIS-team imports approx. 60% of Aalto University’s publications from Scopus and WOS.

The research information system produces information for the management and assessment of the university and its units, such as SA(A)B, Tenure Track and RAI, and for development purposes. This information is also used for reporting and compiling statistics on the operations of the university.
