Description

I am an associate professor (tenured) in remote sensing and lead a team focusing on remote sensing and spectroscopy of vegetation. Since obtaining my doctoral degree in 2005 from the University of Helsinki, I have worked in Finland and five other countries in multidisciplinary research teams focusing on remote sensing, forestry, atmospheric physics, and climate change. Currently, I am the PI of a consolidator grant funded by the European Research Council (ERC, 2018-2023) and two research projecst funded by the Academy of Finland (2015-2019, 2019-2021).

I teach a range of topics related to remote sensing such as Earth observation applications, data preprocessing, spectroscopic measurements, and reflectance modelling. I have also completed university pedagogy studies in the Faculty of Behavioural Sciences, University of Helsinki.
