Description

I am leading the Electric Drives Research Group at the Aalto University School of Electrical Engineering. We study and teach electric motor drives and power converters, including their analysis, control design, and optimization. Our core competence is developing advanced real-time control and estimation algorithms. We are actively collaborating with the industry. Our research results have been published in more than 100 technical papers (of which over 40 in IEEE journals). The results have also led to several patents and patent applications.

I have instructed and supervised five doctoral dissertations and supervised/advised more than 40 master’s thesis. I have been a Technical Programme Committee Member in several major conferences in my field, including IET PEMD, IEEE ECCE, and ICEM conferences. I was the General Co-Chair of the IEEE SLED 2018 conference, Helsinki, Finland, September 2018. I am an IEEE Senior Member and an Editorial Board Member of the IET Electric Power Applications Journal.
