Atsushi Takagaki is currently Associate Professor of Department of Applied Chemistry, Kyushu University, Japan. He received his PhD from Tokyo Institute of Technology supervised by Professor Michikazu Hara in 2006. After postdoctoral work as The University of Tokyo in the group of Professor Kazunari Domen, he joined to the group of Professor Kohki Ebitani in Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST) as Assistant Professor in 2008. After that, he moved back to The University of Tokyo as Assistant Professor working with Professor S. Ted Oyama and Ryuji Kikuchi in 2010. In 2018, he joined to the group of Professor Tatsumi Ishihara in Kyushu University and became Associate Professor.
His research interests are the development of solid acid and base catalysts, biomass conversion, and methane utilization.
He was awarded the young researcher award in the Catalysis Society of Japan in 2016. He has more than 100 refereed publications with over 5200 citations.
