The Language Centre is a separate unit of Aalto University. Our task is to be responsible for the language and communication studies included in the university's undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. In addition, we organise the university's language services, which also include language and communication training for the staff. We also aim to actively develop the university's language and communication teaching.

University teacher/Lecturer in Communication and Interaction

Task
The task of a university teacher/lecturer in communication and interaction is teaching-oriented, and your primary task is to teach various communication and interaction courses as well as to develop teaching content and teaching methods according to the needs of Aalto University's different fields. You will also have a lot of integrated teaching and you will teach at all degree levels of the university. The start of the task is on October 1st or as agreed upon.

Requirements

You have at least a Master's degree majoring in Communication and Interaction or an equivalent degree in the field of communication. In addition, we require extensive expertise in the field of work, good teaching skills and experience in higher education. You must have experience in developing teaching and learning materials in cooperation with other teachers and a genuine desire for active cooperation and competence development and sharing as a team member. To be selected for this position, you must have pedagogical competence suitable for the position, which will be assessed based on pedagogical studies, teaching experience and other activities related to the field. Communication and interaction are taught in Finnish and English, so we require excellent knowledge of both languages. 

Considered as an advantage
A teacher of communication and interaction is expected to be in active contact with Aalto schools, so we hope that you have experience in similar coordination and teaching marketing tasks as well as in integrating teaching into substance teaching. Experience in cooperation with stakeholders and interest in developing teaching from the perspective of accessibility and diverse learners are considered to be your advantage. We value experience in teaching communication in special fields and the ability to apply diverse teaching methods in different environments and produce learning materials.

The salary of the position is determined according to Aalto University's local agreement, and the other terms are determined based on the general collective agreement of the universities. The teaching staff is included in the total working time, and according to the current collective agreement, the annual working time is 1612 hours. The start of the task is 1.10. or as agreed.
