The new practices in the September call

  • The Academy of Finland requires that all Academy-funded researchers make their scientific articles freely available via high-quality open access journals. Read more here. You can join open access clinics in Otaniemi to gain hands-on experience on how to use Aalto’s repository solutions to comply with the funders open access mandates.
  • The Academy is committed to the guidelines of the Finnish Advisory Board on Research Integrity and requires that Academy-funded researchers and sites of research respect the same guidelines. The Academy also recommend that researchers follow the European Code of Conduct for Research Integrity.
  • Mobility is required from Postdoctoral Researcher and Academy Research Fellow applicants.
    • Those applying for funding for a research post as Postdoctoral Researcher or Academy Research Fellow are required to change research environments at the application stage or to have previous experience of working in other research environments (at least 6 months).
  • The Academy Research Fellowship is intended to support the career development. Therefore Academy Research Fellow funding is not granted to persons who hold tenured professorships.
