Questionnaire, Mission-oriented research and innovation in FP9

Universities Finland UNIFI’s, representing all universities in Finland, would like to take the opportunity to contribute ideas on the mission-oriented approach proposed for the next European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation 2021 -2027, referred to as FP9.

With this questionnaire UNIFI would like to outline the most important research priorities for the Finnish universities needing EU-level funding post-2020 and their potential contribution to EU level R&I missions. Your answers will be a contribution to UNIFI’s position paper on the recommendations for the mission led-approach of FP9.

We have done a preliminary study from our national R & I priorities and the universities strategic profiles and are using the findings of this study as a frame for the questionnaire . We urge you to take part in this consultation as it is a direct contribute to the debate on which kind of research and innovation missions should be introduced in FP9 and as well as an opportunity to make your research area visible in Brussels.

In addition of the consultation, we will arrange several mini-seminars (or one bigger) in Brussels during spring. We expect to have from each mission laid out in the position paper, excellency-level researchers presenting to the Commission and other relevant stakeholders the relevance of the proposed research/research area to the mission at stake. In this questionnaire, you have also the unique opportunity to suggest the best representatives with the most inspiring ideas from your university to showcase their grand ideas in events to be held in Brussels.

Deadline for the questionnaire is Friday 2 January.

Note that the questionnaire consists of only a handful of questions and will not take too much of your time. We will not publish these answers with your name and they are solely for the use of UNIFI and this position paper.
