Mr. Heikki Pulkkinen received the Best Thesis Award of the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) of Finland. His Master's thesis was titled "Improving Energy Efficiency with Occupant Tracking". The thesis led to new innovations in lighting technology, which have now been patented. The work was done at Helvar Ltd and supervised by Aalto Univesity New Energy Technologies Group.
