The 74th Cannes Film Festival will take place from 6 to 17 July 2021. The main prize of the festival is the Golden Palm, and also special prize of the jury will be awarded, as well as prizes for the best cinematography, the best script and the best actors. The main series in Cannes has featured films by Martin Scorsese, Akira Kurosawa, Federico Fellini, Spike Lee, Quentin Tarantino, Pedro Almodóvar and Jane Campion.

The film has been produced by the Film Company Aamu. Director Kuosmanen and editor Jussi Rautaniemi are Aalto alumni, and set designer Kari Kankaanpää a student at the Department of Film, Television and Scenography, where also sound designer Pietu Korhonen has studied.

The film was shot in early 2020 in Russia in authentic conditions: on a train to Murmansk, as well as in small remote villages along the way. Subtle humor and the atmosphere of a crowded Russian train set the tone for the unexpected joint journey of a student and a miner from Moscow to Murmansk. The warm and sincere road movie was inspired by the author, artist Rosa Liksom's Finlandia award-winning novel Cabin No. 6 (Hytti nro 6, WSOY, 2011).

The film will premiere in cinemas in fall 2021.
