Content and structure of the minor
About the minor
The minor in Solid Mechanics will give you a foundation in structural analysis, covering the most common modelling approaches in mechanics of materials. It includes two mandatory courses and up to three courses that can be selected based on your interests.
After completing the solid mechanics minor, students will be able to:
- identify the theoretical concepts and general principles governing the use of finite element analysis.
- use numerical modelling techniques to solve practical engineering problems.
- assess the accuracy of numerical predictions in structural analyses.
