Content and structure of the minor
About the minor
“Sustainability is the new black”. The minor in Sustainable Fashion and Textile Management offers comprehensive knowledge and capabilities for understanding how to integrate sustainability considerations into fashion and textile business design. The minor takes the view that environmental, social, and long-term economic sustainability will be part of design, creativity, and retail capabilities of future-proof fashion or garment business.
The minor aims to provide students with 1) holistic understanding of the value chain and the supply chain of the industry, 2) in-depth understanding of sustainability-related considerations in the industry, 3) capabilities to cultivate the opportunities of sustainable design strategies and sustainable business models in fashion and textile context, and 4) ability to connect and communicate with consumers in a meaningful manner.

Students of the Master’s programme in Fashion, Clothing and Textile Design cannot include MUO-E1071 Sustainable Fashion and Textile Design in this minor since it is a compulsory part of their own programme. Thus, FaCT students choose 24 ECTS among the other courses in the list according to the structure.
