Content and structure of the minor
Minor description
The minor offers students the opportunity to learn to use drawing as a tool for thinking. Drawing is studied through both observation and imagination. In life drawing, the emphasis is on observation. In freehand drawing, observation and imagination merge. In contemporary practice, drawing also extends into the expanded field.
Minor's intended learning outcomes
After completing the minor, the student has gained hands-on familiarity with classical observational drawing; with freehand drawing practiced at various locations around the city; and with the ways contemporary drawing extends into other artistic disciplines. They have become acquainted with works by contemporary drawing artists. Upon completing the minor, they can use drawing as a natural tool in their own field.
Description on the minor's structure
The student completes the compulsory courses for the minor, totaling 18 ECTS credits. Note that the minor includes a mandatory four-day intensive period from Monday to Thursday during the autumn break week.
