Description of the minor
These minor courses are about societal and cultural changes and key phenomena from the point of view of design and design professions. Minor is targeted to anyone interested in design. Students majoring in design can do the minor by selecting courses that are not otherwise compulsory to them.
Intended learning outcomes
After completing the minor, the student
- comprehends and can explain the societal and cultural role of design professions amid changes,
- knows how to observe their surroundings and actions from the designer’s point of view,
- knows at least in theory design methods and processes such as service design, user-inspired design, design for sustainability and design thinking,
- knows at least in theory the basics of commercialisation of design and design entrepreneurship.

The student selects from the list of courses so that the sum of credits is 18-30 credits. Courses from other universities can be included in the Minor.
