Content and structure of the minor
About the minor
Students will gain knowledge in: (i) identifying the target species measured in the field of biosensing, (ii) recognizing the environments in which these measurements take place, (iii) understanding the detection principles that can be applied, and (iv) envisioning the development of devices based on the preceding content.
Upon completion of the minor
- students will demonstrate a foundational understanding of biomolecular science and different detection principles utilized in measuring biological signals from living environment. They should be able to articulate key principles and concepts in these areas.
- Students will be able to apply their acquired knowledge to the development of biosensing devices and instruments.
- Through the minor, students will develop the ability to analyze the relationships between biomolecular science, bioelectrical phenomena, and the development of biosensing devices and bioelectrical instruments. They should be capable of critically evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of different approaches and techniques in the design and application of these technologies in the complex biological environment.
