Finnish Brain Foundation grants 2023

Brain Foundation grants can be applied for from 1 August to 31 August 2023

Finnish Brain Foundation awards grants for scientific research of brain and nervous system or closely related diseases in Finland. In 2023, the total grant allocation will be 250,000 EUR. Funding is intended for phd studies and post-docs and to individual researchers, grants ranging from € 1,500 to € 15,000. The applications can be submitted through the online service. The service opens on Mon 1.8. and closes Wed 31.8. at 23:59.

Finnish Brain Foundation’s grants in 2023 by theme and fund (*)

• Alzheimer and other memory disorders 107 000 EUR
• Child and adolescent psychiatry 57 000 EUR
• Disability and mental retardation 46 000 EUR
• Neurology (related to traumatic brain injury, cerebral circulation disorder, epilepsy, MS and Parkinson’s disease) 35 000 EUR
• Muscular dystrophy 5 000 EUR
Total: 250 000 EUR

(*) The Board of the Finnish Brain Foundation retains the right to make changes if needed.

Grants are personal and they cannot be transferred to a third party. Personal grants are intended to allow full-time research leave for the recipient. However, the grant is not a salary for work done in an employment or service relationship. Finnish Brain Foundation is building the Finland of the future, where fewer of us will suffer from diseases of the brain and nervous system. We do this by promoting research through donations and by increasing understanding of brain health, brain diseases and brain research in collaboration with researchers in various fields.
