Your donation is valuable to us as it helps us in our work to solve the sustainability challenges that are important for the future of Finland and the world.

We invest in a wide range of cutting-edge research in business, art, design and technology. For example, in 2023 we were successful in the prestigious flagship competition of the Academy of Finland. Aalto University is involved in all four new flagships – coordinating one (quantum technology) and partnering in the other three.

The number of applicants to our education programmes continued to grow in 2023. Increasing study places and developing our lifewide learning course offerings are key actions to address the national shortage of experts. We are determined to boost Finland’s attractiveness to foreign talent. We believe that an international Finland and diverse universities are important future assets for society.

Our high standards are also reflected in the results of the quality system audit carried out last spring by the Finnish Education Evaluation Centre (FINEEC), in which we were the first Finnish higher education institution to receive an excellent rating in all three areas of the assessment.

I am pleased to say that our donor base has also diversified. The donor survey again showed that we have been successful in working together with you. We highly appreciate the trust you have shown us.

It is important for us to continue to work closely with various actors in society, the business community and our donors. Together we are stronger.
