Uskalla! / Dare! Vol. 2 Seminar for fashion students, young designers and the industry

What kind of business and commercialization skills do designers need? Does the fashion designer need to give up on creativity to reach commercialization? What kind of competencies do fashion designers need to have to build a business based on fashion? These and other topics will be discussed in the seminar at EMMA museum.

You are warmly welcome to discuss fashion design, commercialization, and business with young talented designers from Aalto University!

The discussion delves into questions of fashion design, commercialization, and business. How do young designers see the commercialization of fashion and its transformation into a business? Under what conditions are investors willing to invest in fashion companies? What ethical and sustainability demands do designers, companies and investors have about fashion business today?

The event is co-organized by Aalto’s fashion degree program, Aalto Fashion, and the Finnish Textile & Fashion Association. The event brings together recently graduated fashion designers, experts from Aalto University, investors, and representatives from well-known Finnish fashion companies.

There will also be an opportunity to see Aalto University students’ works. On display is a curated compilation of thesis collections presented at Aalto University’s annual spring event Näytös / Näyttely. At the event, Finnish Textile & Fashion will also award one of the graduated designers who participated in the spring event Näytös24.
