Machine Learning for Kela

"Machine Learning: Basic Principles" course invites guest speaker Ari Vähä-Erkkilä from Kela's CIO Office to tell about machine learning problems faced at Kela.

Aalto's central course on machine learning and artificial intelligence, "Machine Learning: Basic Principles" has been enrolled this year by more than 850 students from all over Aalto (and beyond).

In view of this high demand for machine learning skills, a diverse set of guest speakers have been invited to present current machine learning problems from different fields.

The first guest speaker will be Ari Vähä-Erkkilä (Head of CIO Office) and he will tell about machine learning problems faced at the finnish Social Insurance Institution, Kela.

Short bio:
Ari Vähä-Erkkilä has been heading Kela's CIO Office since 2011 and is currently working with agile methodologies, robotics and AI on top of the previous responsibilities on portfolio management, enterprise architecture, procurement and cross-organizational co-operation. Ari used to code for living and design everything from software architecture to enterprise architecture.

The talk will take place on Friday, 28.09.2018, at 10:15 in lecture hall Aalto (Y202a) in Otakaari 1.
