Job Hunting in a Challenging Market & Handling Work-Life Balance
When
Where
Managing the balance between work and life, being a mother, finding a job in an uncertain market... These are all challenges enough by themselves, but many in the Aalto community must navigate them all at once.
To help, support and offer advice, the Department of Applied Physics Diversity team is putting together a breakfast session on Wednesday, March 18! The event begins at 8:30 am with breakfast (including coffee, tea and savory) and continues with talks from 9 to 10 am. The Speaker is Sedigheh Borandeh, former postdoctoral researcher at Aalto University, currently working in Kemira Oyj, the largest chemical industry group headquartered in Finland.
The event is free to attend and open to anyone interested in the topic. It takes place in the lobby space of the Nanotalo building (Puumiehenkuja 2) on campus.
Sedigheh Borandeh is an organic-polymer chemist with over 10 years of experience in developing renewable bio-based formulation, specializing in sustainable solutions to replace fossil-derived materials. Her expertise includes cellulose and chitosan modification, bio-based polymer synthesis/modification and composites for fibre products, textiles, nonwovens, coatings, food packaging, wastewater treatment and biomedical applications.
After working as a postdoctoral researcher and senior researcher at Aalto, Borandeh has for the last year been a Senior Research Scientist at the Finnish chemical industry company Kemira.
