HICT Pitch & Pizza competition event

HICT the Helsinki Doctoral Education Network in Information and Communications Technology, proudly presents:

***HICT Pitch & Pizza competition event***

When: 7th November, 2018 between 16.00-18.00
Where: CS building Library (Konemiehentie 2, Espoo)
Who: Doctoral students and researchers working at Aalto University (Computer Science and COMNET departments) and the University of Helsinki (Computer Science)
Registration: Register as a pitch presenter or participant. Registration ends on Wednesday 31 October.

Are you eager to talk about your research to your peers? Do you want to develop your pitching skills? Do you want to win SLUSH tickets? Do you like pizza? Come and meet your colleagues from Aalto and University of Helsinki!

Register your pitch talk and/or participation to the HICT Pitch & Pizza competition event!

The pitch competition is for doctoral students and post docs working with ICT-related research at Aalto CS, ComNet, and UH (CS). There are two categories in the competition:

• pitch talks by doctoral students (and MSc students)
• pitch talks by post docs and other researchers

HICT will award three SLUSH tickets for the best pitch talks in each category (2 tickets for the best doctoral students, and 1 ticket for the best post doc pitch). The winners will be selected via voting (each participant has three votes).

Instructions for pitch presenters: Prepare 5 minutes pitch talk that describes your own research. We will send you more detailed instructions after the registration and closer to the event. In case you need to polish your pitching skills, register also to the HICT half-day workshop: pitching and presentation skills for doctoral candidates and researchers (1 ECTS) on Monday 22 October, 2018!
