Saint Lucy's Day is celebrated as a memorial to the legend of Saint Lucy on December 13th every year. The idea is that Lucia (lat. Lux, light) brings light to the darkness of winter.

Saint Lucy's Day is celebrated as a memorial to the legend of Saint Lucy on December 13th every year. The celebration originates from the Catholic church, but today it is celebrated mainly in Swedish-speaking culture.

Traditionally, a girl elected to portray Lucy, is dressed in white clothes, a red belt and wearing a crown of candles on her head and holding a candle in her hand. The idea is that Lucia (lat. Lux, light) brings light to the darkness of winter.

There's a chance to participate to a charity fundraising.

Welcome!
