Defence of dissertation in the field of systems neuroscience, Timo Saarinen, MA Psych

Rhythmic cortical waves reflect production of speech and hand motor sequences locally and within interregional networks

Timo Saarinen, MA Psych, will defend the dissertation "Rhythmic cortical dynamics in production of speech and hand motor sequences" on Thursday 28 February2019 at 12 noon at the Aalto University School of Science, lecture hall M1, Otakaari 1, Espoo.

In the dissertation, rhythmic cortical activity was found to be associated with organization, temporal patterning and cognitive content of characteristic human motor sequences. Rhythmic activity was examined in the movement-related cortical region and, more generally, as a functional principle in distributed networks of regions.

Opponent: Professor Joachim Gross, University of Münster, Germany
