Defence of dissertation in the field of engineering physics, Alex Westström, M.Sc.

Alex Westström, M.Sc.,will defend the dissertation "Majorana and Weyl Modes in Designer Materials" on 26 October 2018 at 12 noon at the Aalto University School of Science, lecture hall H304, Otakaari 1, Espoo. In the first part of the dissertation, we studied topological properties of systems consisting of linear chains of impurities placed on top of superconductors. In the second part of the dissertation, we proposed and studied a way to simulate curved spacetimes in Weyl semimetals.
