Abstract: In this talk, I present my research on human capital in software engineering, an interdisciplinary perspective that explores the importance of skills, professionals and DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) in software engineering. Drawing from my current and future research plans I will reflect on why people matter more than ever in software development.
