Circular sPRINT 2021

Circular sPRINT is an intensive two-week event combining circular economy with 3D printing. The event is organized simultaneously at three fablab locations across Europe; Finland, Belgium, and Germany. The participating students and professionals from various backgrounds will solve circular economy challenges provided by the local partner companies.

For whom: We will assemble cross-disciplinary teams of doctoral students and industry professionals. Master’s students with a suitable background may be eligible to apply as well.

When & where: 7 – 17 September 2021 online and at the Aalto University Digital Design Laboratory (ADDLAB) in Otaniemi, Espoo.

Credits: Aalto students are eligible for 2 ECTS credits. Participants of other universities, please consult with the study coordinator at your home University.

Program: The event activities are divided into lecture content, problem definition, and ideation (online) on the first week followed by an intensive three-day design sprint (in-person) on the second week. The online lectures of the first week, shared by all three event locations, are provided by circular economy, 3D printing, and business professionals. The second week consists of intensive teamwork and hands-on prototyping with 3D printers at the local fablab. The teams attempt to provide a solution and a physical prototype for a given company challenge. If you wish to join, but cannot join the second week in person, online participation may be a possibility.
