AQP Seminar. Hybrid optomechanics: An interface for qubits, cavities and mechanical resonators
Combining mechanical resonators with qubits and optical resonators gives rise to promising new quantum technologies. In this talk I will present an interesting application of these hybrid quantum systems, which is the use of mechanical resonators to mediate the interaction between qubits and cavities. Particularly, I will show a theoretical proposal to achieve the so-desired light-matter strong coupling regime and thus allowing an alternative approach to interface photons with atoms. I will also discuss the limitations of this proposal in relation with nowadays experiments in the field.
