Aalto AI Talks: Studying and Teaching with AI 21.10.2025

How can we responsibly adopt AI tools in studying and teaching? In this event, we present an overview of AI pedagogy with examples and experiences from Aalto University teachers, students, learning services, and support staff.

Description

New AI based technologies are becoming part of everyday use. Join us for an insightful afternoon exploring AI literacy in education. The event includes presentations on AI teaching tools and  and real-world applications in education. Enjoy networking opportunities and open discussions with peers, complemented by coffee and tea. 

Who can participate?

This event is free and open to anyone to join in person or remotely, however some of the examples and tools in the session are mainly relevant to those working or studying at Aalto University.

    Why this event? The good, the bad, and the ugly of AI in higher education.
  • 13:05 - 13:30: Organizing an AI course for Aalto students (Iaroslav Kriuchkov, Aalto BIZ)
    Introduction to Generative AI, Essay (ISM-A1111), a course created by Aalto School of Business teachers and researchers, is going to be one opportunity for Aalto students to learn generative AI basics. Iaroslav Kriuchkov, Doctoral Researcher from the Department of Management Science, will tell about the course and the feedback.
  • 13:30 - 13:50: Aalto students' voice: Marcell Berta and Teemu Palkki from AYY (Aalto University Student Union) will present students' reflections, concerns, and hopes on (generative) AI tools.
     
  • 13:50- 14:05: Aalto AI Assistant for teachers (Kristian Hentula, Aalto ITS)
    Learn the latest features of the Aalto AI Assistant from a teacher’s point of view, both inside and outside the classroom.

The workshop will be held at the Aalto University Otakaari 1, Espoo, Top Lounge (5th floor) (display on a map) and on Zoom (link will be sent to registered participants). The room might change depending on the number of registrations. You will receive detailed information a few days before the event.
