Graphic design students at Aalto designed a visual identity for a travel card that won praise for its playfulness and approachability.

The Waltti travel card, which belongs to the Finnish Transport Agency & TVV lippu- ja maksujärjestelmä Oy, is an integrated ticket and payment system for public transport, whose visual identity is the product of students studying on the Master’s degree level in graphic design.

In the study project originally initiated with the Finnish Transport Agency, the students produced six individual visual concepts. The winning proposal stands out with its playfulness. It is easily approachable, and rises from the street milieu into visibility.

The main elements of its visual narrative are the logo and versatile Waltti pattern, which is easy to further build and develop.

The Waltti card was designed by Daniel Forsman, Jana Nenadic ja Pilvi Meriluoto, all students on the Master’s degree level in graphic design.
