‘Since my bicycle was stolen a couple years ago, I have travelled my commutes in the Helsinki Metropolitan area on foot. I prefer to walk instead of taking the bus. The commute from Arabianranta to Otaniemi does not take much longer on foot than when sitting in a crowded bus. Besides, it is far nicer to think while in motion. I don't have any great ideology attached to this. While participating in a workshop in Belgium, I met a Dutch guy, who had a multitude of ideas and projects linked to walking. For one, he had selected random people in town and followed them on foot. He said that this had allowed him to find many interesting places that he had never visited before.’
