I’ve been a keen snowboarder ever since I was little, and this has taken me to races all over the world. I considered making this season my last, but competing once more started to feel more attractive after a short break.

“As children, my siblings and I built podiums out of three chairs on which we’d climb whenever a Finn would do well in some sport. I’ve been a keen snowboarder ever since I was little, and this has taken me to races all over the world. I considered making this season my last, but competing once more started to feel more attractive after a short break. I went on to win the silver medal in the slopestyle event at the Winter Universiade in Almaty. I also took gold in just about every discipline at the Finnish Championships in Levi. When my sister won gold in the women’s event and my kid brother in the junior event, the scene at Levi really started to resemble our childhood podium antics.”
