Steering groups

The steering groups discuss strategic and operational issues that require a university-wide position, policy line or recommendation for the university’s leadership and decision-making. The steering groups are tasked with preparing matters for decision-making by various bodies of the university.

In their respective areas, the steering groups are tasked with:

  • furthering the implementation of the university strategy, the development of the joint activities, and the follow-up on achievement of the strategic goals according to the university’s annual clock;
  • ensuring that the crosscutting approaches are systematically and comprehensively incorporated in the preparatory work of the steering groups, and that the groups hear the views of persons responsible for crosscutting approaches as necessary;
  • coordinating the university’s long-term evaluation programme;
  • preparing items for discussion and decision-making by the University Academic Affairs Committee (AAC) and the President’s Management Team (PMT);
  • appointing and coordinating permanent and temporary task forces;
  • monitoring and evaluating the progress of strategic development projects and making recommendations on them;
  • providing a forum for the sharing of best practices and enhancing the operational and work methods used in the planning and steering processes;
  • furthering collaboration and engagement by the university community in the preparation and development of joint activities; and
  • improving the openness of the preparation of joint activities and communicate information about the preparation of matters to the university community.
  • The steering groups are also responsible for tasks assigned by the president, provost and the PMT.
