Centre for Quantum Engineering funding awarded for four projects
The following four proposals have received funding from the CQE and pave the way for large-scale initiatives in the field of quantum engineering at Aalto:
Prof. Jaakko Timonen, Prof. Mika Sillanpää and Prof. Sebastiaan van Dijken: Diamagnetic levitated nanoparticles as mechanical resonators, EUR 78 000
Dr. Jan Goetz, Dos. Mikko Möttönen and Prof. Jukka Pekola: Josephson Vector Signal Generator, EUR 80 000
Prof. Petri Ala-Laurila and Prof. Zhipei Sun: Single-photon processing across the neural circuits of the retina, EUR 80 000
Prof. Päivi Törmä and Prof. Sebastiaan van Dijken: Topological lasing in a plasmonic nanoparticle array, EUR 80 000
9 applications were submitted by the deadline in June. The funding decision, based on the result of four external reviewers and the recommendations of the CQE Scientific Board, was made by the Director of the Centre for Quantum Engineering, Prof. Christian Flindt on 20 Aug, 2018.
