The U.S. News ranking for Aalto University's Computer Science field was 7th in the European comparison and 43rd globally.

In the past four years, Aalto’s placement in these rankings has improved significantly. In 2014, the Computer Science field in Aalto placed 23rd within Europe and 98th globally.

The comparison was conducted by U.S. News & World Report. Universities were ranked based on their reputation and research in the field.

With 44 professors and more than 400 employees, the Department of Computer Science is the largest department at Aalto University and the largest Computer Science unit in Finland. It is assessed among the top 10 Computer Science departments in Europe and in the top 100 globally also in the NTU and Shanghai (ARWU) rankings.
