Equality and diversity at the School of Arts, Design and Architecture
We aim to provide a non-discriminatory, gender-equal and accessible environment in which employees and students with diverse backgrounds and duties receive equal treatment and are free to participate without discrimination in university activities.
Aalto University's goal is to provide everyone with an equal and inclusive operating environment in which all genders, employees and students from different backgrounds are treated equally. Our common goal is to have a good study and work environment at the university. Equality and inclusivity work contribute to the sustainable social and cultural development of Aalto University.
Aalto University's Equality Plan supports the continuous promotion of equality and inclusion at the university. The planning, implementation and monitoring of Aalto University's values and equality is handled by the EQU Committee, in which the School of Arts, Design and Architecture has a representative.
The EQU Committee draws up a separate plan for the implementation and monitoring of the equality plan, which is updated annually. The higher education institutions and the university's joint units prepare their own practical actions on the basis of the university's Equality plan. At the School of Arts, Design and Architecture, the plan is the responsibility of the the ARTS Leadership.
