Required previous studies
The programme demands that all candidates have completed:
- bachelor-level introductory courses on marketing (or equivalent)
- bachelor-level introductory courses on statistics (or equivalent).
The programme reserves the right to critically assess the applicability of these prior studies presented as equivalent. A study record indicating strong analytical ability, diverse study interests, and timely degree completion is considered a merit. Students entering the programme acknowledge that courses in the curriculum may have additional prerequisites. If needed, the student can complete these prerequisite courses as electives without delaying degree completion. The degree’s year of completion may have an effect on the evaluation.
1. Applicants with no previous specialization in marketing (Major or Minor)
Those with a strong performance record in research method studies that the department judges to be relevant to the discipline of marketing will receive special consideration. Studies in fields that are foundational to marketing theory will also receive special consideration. These fields include economics, statistics, operations research, psychology, history, philosophy, sociology, and anthropology.
2. Applicants with a previous degree specialising in marketing (Major or Minor)
The Programme gives special consideration for those with experience and a proven track record in marketing studies. Particularly a completed Major or Minor in marketing with a GPA of 3.50 or more will be considered a merit.
