Learning outcomes

Upon completing the course, you will:
- be able to engage in conversations on topics and maintain a conversation
- be able to describe work-related topics and give presentations on them
- write better and more accurate texts
- possess a deep understanding of traditional and modern Chinese culture, values, and society
- have enhanced your listening comprehension skills

In addition, by completing this course, you can demonstrate that you have the compulsory foreign language skills required for your degree.

Content

Speaking and reading on workspace-related topics. The topics include company introductions, work plans, business meetings, office supplies, etc. (The topics are partially tailored to the learners’ needs).

Workload

This is a self-study course, so it is not fixed to any particular time or place. However, you must complete and return your assignments on a regular weekly basis. Meetings are held once per week and attending them is voluntary. The topics may customized to suit students’ needs.

Recommended prerequisites: Chinese 6 or equivalent knowledge

  1. Oral and written assignments (50%)
  2. Written exam (50%)
