Rakennusteknillisen suunnittelun ja toteutuksen tutkimuksen tehtävänä on yhdistää nämä kaksi alaa ja luoda uutta tutkimukseen perustuvaa tietoa rakennusten energiatehokkuuden, turvallisuuden, kestävyyden, terveellisyyden ja viihtyisyyden edistämiseksi.
