The Systems of Representation group led by Lily Díaz promoting research in digital cultural heritage has done significant work in combining research and artistic activities in their projects that have attracted international attention. Students and researchers in the Department of Media have worked in long-term collaboration with the National Board of Antiquities in the Re-discovering Vrouw Maria project, the results of which were showcased in an exhibition in 2011-2012. Professor Diaz has encouraged her students to publish their work in international forums, while she has personally published articles in such high-quality journals as Digital Creativity.

Four years grant awarded to the Illuminating History: Through the Eyes of Media by the Academy of Finland programme on Research on Information (Tiedontutkimus, phase 1)

The award was given by the Centre for International Mobility (CIMO) in Finland for work towards dissertation

The scholarship was granted for carrying out independent research at the Archive of the Indies in Seville, Spain.

The award of is given to Lily Díaz and the Systems of Representation research group for work on the The Pavilion of Finland at the 1900 World Fair in Paris short documentary film.

The competition was organized in line with the International<br/>Council of Museums, ICOM 2004 and with the support of ICOM, AVICOM, the<br/>Korean National Commission for UNESCO (KNCU), and UNESCO.
