Chiara Chioni
Chiara Chioni is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Architecture, School of Arts, Design and Architecture at Aalto University, where she is affiliated with the Computational Methodologies in Landscape Architecture and Urbanism laboratory led by Prof. Dr. Pia Fricker and involved in the UTOPIZE – Urban Transformation Through Open Participation and Inclusivity for Citizen Empowerment (Horizon 2024) project.
She holds a Ph.D. (Doctor Europaeus) in Architecture and Landscape Planning from the University of Trento, focused on sustainable workflows for virtual landscape reconstruction, and a Master’s degree in Architecture and Construction Engineering from the University of Pisa, with a thesis on post-disaster temporary housing.
Her research explores transcalar landscape design supported by multidimensional documentation and digital modelling, and has been presented and published internationally. She has contributed to several research projects, including INTUF (COST 2024), S-COOL (CARIVERONA–Natural Capital 2023), RESALIO (PAT Parco dello Stelvio), B4R–Branding4Resilience (PRIN 2017–Youth Line), and PEARLS (H2020 MSCA RISE 2017).
Her professional background includes experience as a freelance Construction Engineer at ATIproject in Pisa, as a postgraduate intern at Elisa Valero’s office in Granada, and as a trainee at Henraux S.p.A., working on national and international design projects with a focus on digital drawing, modelling, and spatial analysis.
