Anna Valtonen

Professor Anna Valtonen is the Vice President of Art and Creative Practices at the Aalto University. She was appointed Dean of the School of Arts, Design and Architecture in April 2014. Valtonen was a member of the Aalto University Board in 2008–2014. Valtonen is also a board member in Aarhus School of Architecture. Before Aalto University she was the Rector of the Umeå Institute of Design at Umeå University. In 2007, Valtonen was awarded her doctorate in Art and Design in the former University of Art and Design Helsinki, where she has also been a researcher and a board member. In 1997–2009, Valtonen worked in different positions at Nokia, the last one being Head of Design Research & Foresight.
