My current project, "The Materiality and Material Culture of Early Modern Hunting", with the Fashion History Lab concentrates on the materiality, as well as women’s role and contribution to the culture and practices, of hunting through an object-based study that analyses hunting clothes and fashion.

To conduct this research, along with previously analysed textual sources and artwork on hunting, the project will study four selected garments utilising a dual approach: material and digital analysis. The combination of material and digital analysis ensures a close examination and the acquisition of tacit knowledge of historical hunting dress, and its significance and impact not only on the culture of hunting, but also on the sociability, visual culture and identity of hunting participants within early modern European societies.
