Tieteellisen tukiryhmän (SAB, Scientific Advisory Board) tarkoitus on arvioida yliopiston tutkimuksen laatua ja tukea yliopistoa tavoitteensa saavuttamisessa.

Tieteellisen tukiryhmän (Scientific Advisory Board) tarkoitus on arvioida yliopiston tutkimuksen laatua ja tukea yliopistoa tavoitteensa saavuttamisessa.

Aallon korkeakoulujen tieteelliset tukiryhmät kokoontuvat seuraavan kerran marraskuussa 2021, jolloin niiden tehtävänä on antaa kriittisiä, eteenpäin katsovia huomioita ja suosituksia

  • korkeakoulun strategisesta suunnitelmasta ja Aallon strategisten tavoitteiden toimeenpanosta korkeakoulussa sekä
  • RAI 2018 -arvioinnin yhteydessä annettujen suositusten toimeenpanosta

    Distinguished Professor​, Rutgers, State University of New Jersey​, Chair of the SAB

    • Head of Communications and Signal Processing Laboratory, Rutgers School of Engineering, the State University of New Jersey, USA.​

    • Since 2010, she has been Professor at the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Rutgers. From 1992 to 2010, she was Professor at Drexel University, Philadelphia, USA.​

    • Her research interests span the area of statistical signal processing, wireless communications, signal processing in networking and biomedical signal processing. ​

    • Member of Sigma Xi, the Technical Chamber of Greece, and the Greek Association of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.​

    • Her awards include Presidential Faculty Fellow Award, The White House and NSF (1995), IEEE Fellow (2008), IEEE Signal Processing Society Meritorious Service Award (2012), and Great Master at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, UESTC (2012), President-Elect of the IEEE Signal Processing Society (2020-2021).

    Professor Jens Zander

    Professor​, KTH Royal Institute of Technology

    • Professor in Radio Communication Systems at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Stockholm, Sweden since 1989. Dean of the School of ICT (KTH) Between 2018-2020. ​

    • His research interests include architectures, resource and flexible spectrum management regimes as well as economic models for future wireless infrastructures. ​

    • Co-founder and Scientific Director of Wireless@KTH, the KTH Center for Wireless Systems. ​

    • A Board Member of the Swedish National Post and Telecom Agency, a member of the Royal Academy of Engineering Sciences (2001), associate member of SNRV, Swedish URSI Branch (1990), senior research advisor at the Swedish National Defense Institute, and Honorary Doctor at Aalto University (2014). ​

    • Besides his academic career, Jens Zander is a co-founder of SECTRA AB, high-tech communications/medical imaging company on the Swedish Stock exchange (500+ employees).​

    • Board Member of Possio AB (SME in mobile printing solutions), Åkerströms AB (SME in radio remote control and industrial logistics), and Affärsstrategerna (Venture capitalist in Wireless and Medical applications).  ​

    Professor Göran Andersson

    Professor, Emeritus​, ETH Zürich

    • Full Professor in Electric Power Systems at ETH Zürich 2000-2016. During 1986-2000, he was Full Professor in Electric Power Systems at Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) Stockholm, Sweden.​

    • Former Head of the Laboratory of Electric Power Systems and High Voltage Technology, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zürich), Switzerland.​

    • His main research interests include power systems dynamics and control, power markets, and future energy systems. ​

    • Member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (1992), member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences (1994), IEEE Fellow (1997), Fellow of Royal Physiographic Society in Lund, Sweden (2010), member of the Swiss Academy of Engineering Sciences (2015) and foreign member of the US National Academy of Engineering (2016). Honorary Doctor at University of Waterloo (2017).​

    • Dr. Andersson’s awards include the IEEE PES Outstanding Power Educator Award (2007) and the George Montefiore International Award for Power Engineering (2011).  ​

    Professor Clivia Sotomayor-Torres

    Professor, ICN2 Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology

    • Obtained her PhD in Physics in 1984 from the University of Manchester, UK, with a thesis on semiconductor physics.​​

    • Since 2007 she is an ICREA research professor and carries out research in the field of science and engineering of phononic nanostructures, nanophotonics and novel lithography methods for their realisation.​​

    • In 2020 she was awarded an ERC Advanced grant for research on phononics in ICT. She has authored and or co-authored over 450 scientific articles and edited six books. She has about 450 indexed publications and accrued over 10000 times. Her h-index is 49 (WoS). ​​

    • She leads a research group of about 17 people and has co-authored research policy support documents on nanophotonics, nanophononics and nanoelectronics.​

    • Professor Sotomayor Torres has been visiting professor at the Paul Sabatier University in Toulouse and at the Royal Institute of Technology KTH, Sweden.​​

    Professor Karl-Erik Årzén

    Professor​, Lund University​

    • Received his M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and Ph.D. in Automatic Control from Lund University in 1981 and 1987, respectively. He was appointed as Full Professor in automatic control in 2000.​

    • He has also worked for ABB Corporate Research during 1992-1994. His research interests include cyber-physical systems, real-time systems, real-time and embedded control, control of computer systems, and cloud control.​

    • He is the vice-coordinator for the Lund University part of the ELLIIT strategic research area on IT and mobile communication, co-director for WASP --- the Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems and Software Program (the single largest research grant within Engineering Sciences in Sweden ever with a total budget of 550 million EUR), and  an elected member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences.​

    • He has supervised 8 Ph.D. students to completion as the main advisor and is currently main supervisor for 3 Ph.D. students. ​

    Professor Armin Kohlrausch​

    Professor​, Emeritus​, TU Eindhoven

    • Studied physics at the University of Göttingen (Germany) and specialized in acoustics. Retired Full Professor and Chair of Auditory and Multisensory perception at Eindhoven University of Technology.​

    • From 1985 until 1990 he worked at the Drittes Physikalisches Institut at the University of Göttingen, where he was responsible for research and teaching of psychoacoustics and room acoustics.​

    • In 1991 he joined the Philips Research Laboratories in Eindhoven and worked in the speech and hearing group of the Institute for Perception Research (IPO), a joint venture between Philips and the TU/e. Since 1998, he combined his work at Philips Research with a Professor position for auditory and multisensory perception at the TU/e.​

    • In 2004 he was appointed research fellow of Philips Research and in 2016 he retired from Philips. In 2017 he was honored with the Helmholtz medal of the German Acoustical Society for his exceptional contributions to binaural psychoacoustics, auditory modeling, and multisensory perception. In 2019, the German Acoustical Society awarded him the honorary membership. ​
