IN2MISSION-tutkimushanke pyrkii parantamaan ymmärrystä innovaatiopolitiikan työkaluista ja instrumenteista, jotka mahdollistavat sellaisia data- ja alustatalouden innovaatioita, jotka nopeuttaisivat missiolähtöistä toimintaa ja järjestelmätason muutoksia. Projektissa keskitytään valikoituihin suuria ja yhteiskunnallisia haasteita käsitteleviin EU Missioihin, erityisesti ilmastonmuutoksen torjuntaan ja ilmastoneutraaleihin älykkäisiin kaupunkeihin.

Business Finlandin rahoittamassa hankkeessa tuotetaan konkreettisia ohjeita suomalaisen elinkeino-, innovaatio- ja yrittäjyyspolitiikan kehittämiseksi sekä johtamiskäytäntöjä liiketoimintamahdollisuuksien hyödyntämiseen missiolähtöisessä toiminnassa. Hankkeen kestää kaksi vuotta elokuuhun 2024.

Tutkimusta tehdään yhteistyössä Aalto-yliopiston, VTT:n ja kansainvälisten yhteistyökumppanien kanssa.

Ola Henfridsson is the Schein Family Endowed Chair, Professor of Business Technology, and the Associate Dean of Online Business Programs at Miami Herbert Business School, University of Miami. His research interests relate to digital innovation, technology management, and platforms. Ola teaches executive and graduate courses related to blockchain, innovation, and product management.He is a CISR Academic Research Fellow at MIT. He has worked and consulted with leading companies such as General Motors, Mecel, Volvo Cars, Volvo Trucks, and many more. Ola's research has been published in world-elite journals such as Academy of Management Review, Information Systems Research, MIS Quarterly, and Organization Science. He is a former Senior Editor of Information Systems Research (2015-2020) and the MIS Quarterly (2008-2011). Ola was the Chair of the AoM OCIS division for 2019-2020. He co-founded and recently served as president of the AIS special issue group on Digital Innovation, Transformation, and Entrepreneurship (AIS SIGDITE).

Kalle Lyytinen is Distinguished University Professor at Case Western Reserve University and a distinguished visiting professor at Aalto University, Finland. He is among the top five IS scholars in terms of his h-index (96); he has the highest network centrality among the IS scholars. He AIS Fellow (2004) and the LEO Award recipient (2013), and the former chair of IFIP WG 8.2 “Information systems and organizations”. He has published over 400 refereed articles and edited or written over 30 books or special issues. He has won best paper awards from AoM, AIS/ICIS and other societies and served as SE or editor to all IS journals and several leading organization theory and innovation journals. He conducts research on digital innovation and its dynamics and organizing, complex design work, requirements in large systems, and emergence and growth of digital infrastructures.

Dr. Robin Gustafsson, IN2MISSION project leader, Associate Professor at the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management at Aalto University. Robin’s research focuses on strategy and organization in technology disruptions, how and why digital is disrupting industries and markets, strategic digital transformation, new sources of competitive advantage arising from digitalization, platform economy, platform business and strategy, and innovation policy and strategy in the age of digital and platforms.

Dr. Kirsi Hyytinen has 20 years of experience in innovation policy research. She leads the ‘Future-proof Societies’ team at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland which focuses on supporting decision-makers to have concrete means to understand the future needs, design proactive policies and to analyze their impacts in the field of innovation and sustainable society. Her key areas of expertise are e.g. systemic innovation, impact assessment and evaluation of RDI and methodology development in future-oriented systemic impact evaluation. 

Dr. Jorge Martins is Senior Scientist at the Foresight and Data Economy – Future-proof societies research team at VTT. His research areas are technology management, foresight, strategy and innovation. His work focuses on the management of knowledge and inter-organisational networks, diffusion and adoption of key enabling technologies, and regional innovation systems.
