My research interest is on entrepreneurship in development context. I apply feminist (organizational) theory and discourse analysis to critically examine the potential of entrepreneurship for empowering women in poverty. My current research is based on fieldworks in rural communities in Central Java, Indonesia, wherein community development program was implemented to enable entrepreneurial engagement among women. The studies are focused on women’s voice in negotiating and navigating patriarchal norms to create opportunities for themselves.
