Who are you? What and when did you study at Aalto University School of Business?

My name is Pekka Lehtinen and I work as Managing Director for Consafe Logistics Ltd. in Helsinki. I attended the Mikkeli BBA program as BBA9. I graduated in 2000 from Mikkeli after an exchange period at Queen’s University in Canada.

How did you end up in your current position?

I started in my current position in Sept 2020 via a headhunter. This is my 7th job after graduation and each of the prior positions have brought in something totally different, valuable experiences that support me in my current tasks.

What has been particularly important in your studies or what has been most useful regarding your career?

Teamwork and the skill to think outside the box have brought the biggest insights into my career. The tight cooperation among the students enable you to reflect on your own ambitions and goals in career and life. Experiences with different cultures have proven very valuable in working life.

What is your best memory from Mikkeli?

Definitely SKIBBA skiing club and the trip to Åre Sweden will never be forgotten. In general the whole time spent in Mikkeli was great, the atmosphere couldn’t have been more positive.

Experiences with different cultures during studies have proven very valuable in working life.

What is your advice for current BScBA students and recent graduates?

Network as much as you can during the studies and after, widen your perspective. When you go abroad for the exchange period, be active and engage yourself to the local life as much as possible. If you choose to go to a country where you could learn an additional language, even better!

Why should someone choose the BScBA Program?

The diversity of the program, quality of the teachers and number one the network that you gain thru your peers during the studies. All these combined gives you a competitive edge when going after your dream job(s).
