Heidi Henrickson

I am one of Aalto Networking Platform’s Managers, responsible for two key research areas: Materials & Sustainable Use of Natural Resources, and Arts & Design Knowledge-Building. In this role, I work across Aalto Schools. In addition, I am an Academic Coordinator for the Department of Bioproducts and Biosystems in the School of Chemical Engineering for Head of Department.

For the Networking Platform, I coordinate Aalto's strategic opening to promote multidisciplinarity, networking, and visibility for researchers and educators. Formerly Manager for the Materials Platform (2018-2020), that initiative provided Seed Funding for emerging research projects or preparing funding applications. As a continuation of that effort, we now offer networking training and events, and 'matchmaking' between technology and design researchers, as well as support bringing a community of experts together. Seed Funding continues in 2022-2023.

In the Department of Bioproducts and Biosystems, I assist the Head of Department with academic funding applications and reports preparation, publishing, presentations, and popular dissemination of scientific results for the department. In addition, I support the department’s management team and coordinate with the School’s Development Manager. I also offer services to funded consortia.
