The School of Business Alumni Ambassador Emilia Rantala encourages first-year students to gain work experience already during studies. "Any kind of work experience will later on help you proceed towards next job opportunities", she says, and below gives her advice on applying for summer jobs.
“In the 1980s, the studies and academic life were separate from the business world, which was a disappointment for me. Now, the times have luckily changed and it is great to follow the dynamics of different Aalto University units. There are so many good things going on at the campus, and it seems to me like they have Slush every day”, says our alumnus Oskar Vahervuori.

Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and Communications Janne Viskari realised during his studies that he was more interested in the coordination of matters rather than in-depth expert work.

”It is never too late to study more and try new things – I am a good example of that! I studied logistics, but in the working life I realized that I’m more interested in both business and human resources, and so I ended up doing what I do today”, says our alumna Elvira Vainio, who is working as a HRD manager at Veikkaus.
Several different experiences and occasions from Aalto University have affected the employment of the School of Business alumnus Niklas Karvonen, who is currently working as a Business Design Manager at 16Lab in Tokyo.
A total of 90 Masters of Science in Economics and Business Administration and three Doctors of Science in Economics and Business Administration graduated in the festive graduation ceremony held in the School of Business main building in Töölö on 21 December 2018. Next time, Masters of Science in Economics and Business Administration will be celebrated in Otaniemi in March 2019.
