We are now looking for a
Head of Innovation Ecosystem Services
In this role, you lead and develop Aalto’s Innovation Ecosystem Services. One of your main goals is to build a more active national and international innovation ecosystem network. You will develop further commercialization processes, and promote and advance innovation activities related to e.g. sustainability. You work for bringing large corporations and startups closely together, and create the conditions for students and researchers to embark on dynamic startup activities. In addition, you foster collaboration with student entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial education.
Aalto University’s Innovation Ecosystem Services consists of three teams: Innovative Services, Aalto Startup Center and EIT Services. Innovation Ecosystem Services’ main areas of responsibilities are inventions and their protection of intellectual property, University’s technology and competence transfer for the benefit of society, startup support (incubator and accelerator support) for research based business, coordination of support for student-led entrepreneurship, and support for participating in The European Institute of Innovation & Technology Knowledge and Innovation Communities (EIT KICs).
You will report to the Vice President of Innovations, and you will work in close collaboration with Aalto’s Research Services, Advancement and Corporate Engagement and Legal Services. You will also strengthen the relationships with the corporates.
We expect you to have passion and insight in commercializing research results, starting research based business, and experience on university–business collaboration. You have strong interpersonal, networking and leadership skills. We value your independent and collaborative working style, as well as your capacity for conceptual big-picture thinking. To succeed, you have a master’s or doctoral degree and excellent communication skills in English and Finnish.
