Opioid system regulates human sociality

Tomi Karjalainen, M.Sc. (Tech.),will defend the dissertation "Opioidergic regulation of human affiliative behavior: Evidence from positron emission tomography studies" on Friday 26 April2019 at 12 noon in Aalto University School of Science, lecture hall F239a, Otakaari 3, Espoo. In the dissertation, it was studied how the brain’s opioid receptors regulate emotions and social behavior. The results suggest that the opioid system may protect individuals against emotional and psychological stressors.
